Pittsburgh Newborn Photography Studio
Welcome to my Pittsburgh, PA newborn, baby and children studio! When I first started thinking about how my ‘set-up’ should be for my studio space, I wanted to make sure that parents had a place to be comfortable and relax, while still being able to watch their newborn baby as I work. I also wanted to make sure my shooting space was efficient so that I didn’t need to move things around constantly and waste time if a baby was sleeping, or a little one was in a happy, smiley mood!
As time has passed, I’ve tweaked and adjusted things; so, if you’ve been here before, you may notice some changes! You’ll also notice that I have A LOT of ‘stuff’!
This is my main shooting area. During a newborn session, I have several backdrops and floor drops set up so that I can quickly switch between them to give clients variety in their photos. My space is side by side: one side is for the beanbag and the other is used for prop, sibling and parent shots. The large grey ‘tube’ is what I unroll for family and parent photos. There are several colors available that all create a classic, timeless backdrop for your family photos with your brand new baby! Once parent and family photos are done, I just roll it right up. The odd looking PVC ‘cage’ around the beanbag is the stand on which I attach my blankets. Pulling them tight gives a smooth look without distracting wrinkles. My lightstand and giant light (which are behind me lighting up this space!) are on wheels so I can quickly change from one area to the next without taking extra time. The sitting area for families is right next to my prop space.
Below are two of my favorite parts! My prop areas! I keep my small items here so they are quickly accessible (larger bowls, backdrops, buckets, etc. are kept in a backroom so they are out of the way).
And, last, but not least, the seating area where parents can relax! I invite you to sit back, catch up on your favorite show, read a magazine, take a nap or just watch me work with your beautiful newborn baby! If young siblings are staying for the session, I bring toys down and also have On Demand available for their favorite show.
If you or someone you know is expecting, I would love to be considered for your Pittsburgh newborn photography session.
